It’s Not Too Late to Get Your Flu Vaccination
Somerset Council is urging eligible residents to receive their flu vaccination if they have not done so yet. The optimal time for a flu jab is in autumn or early winter, before widespread flu transmission begins. Cases of flu are already appearing this year.
Flu is more serious than a common cold. It can increase the risk of serious lung and airway infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, or worsen existing health conditions.

The NHS usually notifies eligible residents when they can schedule their flu jab. If residents have not been contacted but believe they qualify, they should consult their GP practice.
