Teenager who got out of ambulance was Tasered before being killed by car

A teenager who exited an ambulance on a motorway was tasered by police before being struck by a car and killed, according to police watchdog investigators. The incident involved 18-year-old Logan Smith from Weston-super-Mare, who was being transported to hospital when the ambulance halted on the hard shoulder of the M5 northbound around 11pm on November 30 due to safety concerns. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said it is examining the actions and decisions made by officers prior to the fatal event. Body-worn camera footage reportedly shows an officer attempting to engage with Logan, followed by the deployment of a Taser, after which he collapsed. He was then hit by a vehicle travelling on the southbound side, and despite emergency medical care, Logan died at the scene.
