STILLWATER (AP) — Vyctorius Miller led all scorers with 21 points, while reserve Christian Coleman posted a double-double as Oklahoma State turned a close game into a decisive 95-71 victory over Oral Roberts on Tuesday night.
In the season opener for both programs, Coleman added 15 points and 11 rebounds. Parsa Fallah contributed 15 points, Jaylen Curry scored 13, and Andrija Vukovic came off the bench with 11 for the Cowboys. Oklahoma State outrebounded Oral Roberts 52-37.
Ty Harper led the Golden Eagles with 18 points, followed by Jack Turner with 14 and Ofri Naveh with 11.
After building a 22-12 lead, the Cowboys saw Oral Roberts rally to take brief advantages of 39-37 and 41-39. Oklahoma State responded by closing the half on an 11-5 run, taking control before halftime.
Following the break, Oklahoma State ramped up its defense and dominated the tempo. After forcing just four turnovers in the first half, the Cowboys pressed Oral Roberts into 11 second-half giveaways.
Curry’s layup with 11:42 left and a 3-pointer less than a minute later extended the lead to 70-57, and the Cowboys stayed ahead by double digits for the remainder.
Oklahoma State opened its season with a dominant second-half showing, defeating Oral Roberts 95-71 behind Miller’s scoring and Coleman’s all-around performance.
