Lando Norris has made it clear that his mindset remains steady for the final four races of the season, despite taking the lead in the championship after his dominant win in Mexico. The British driver aims to maintain focus as he enters the Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend.
Arriving in Brazil, Norris holds a slim one-point lead over his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, while Max Verstappen trails by 36 points in third. This marks the first time since April that Norris has topped the standings.
During Thursday’s media session at Interlagos, the 25-year-old reflected on his approach to the crucial final rounds.
“We'll see at the end of the year. At the minute, nothing changes. I feel the same.”
Norris emphasized that being ahead of Verstappen and Piastri in the standings does not affect his approach.
“It doesn’t change anything,”
he said, noting that his recent win in Mexico serves more as a confidence boost than a turning point in mentality.
“It’s always nice to win. I wouldn’t say I was lacking confidence before – I felt good in Austin and Singapore.”
While Norris acknowledged the psychological benefit of his recent success, he stressed that stability and consistency remain central to his outlook as the championship enters its decisive stage.
