Sarah Gomersall, chief executive officer of Jersey Cricket, represented the island at the ICC Europe Female Leaders’ Summit held in Glasgow last month. The summit focused on enhancing opportunities for women and girls in cricket.
The two-day event, hosted by Cricket Scotland during Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week, brought together leaders from Ireland, Luxembourg, Finland, Belgium, England, and Scotland. It aimed to encourage idea-sharing, challenge existing norms, and foster the future development of women's cricket.
“The summit challenged us to think differently about how we grow the game, applying entrepreneurial thinking and collaboration to drive progress.”
Ms Gomersall described the experience as “inspiring and energising” and valued being part of a network of women actively shaping the cricket landscape.
The summit offered a platform for women leaders in cricket to exchange innovative ideas and strategies that drive growth and inclusivity in the sport across Europe.
