In 2025, the UTSA Roadrunners celebrate their 15th football season. As one of the newer programs in the FBS, UTSA has rapidly established itself in college football.
During its first season in 2011, the Roadrunners set NCAA modern startup records by drawing 56,743 fans for the inaugural game against Northeastern State and averaging 35,521 fans over six home games.
In 2021, UTSA achieved several milestones, including a road win against Illinois (Big Ten), their first conference championship with a 49-42 win over WKU, and completing the season with a 12-2 record and a third bowl game appearance.
They repeated as Conference USA champions in 2022 with a 48-27 victory over North Texas and finished the year with an 11-3 record and a third consecutive bowl appearance.
