CenterPoint Energy acknowledged that customer personal information was exposed in a data breach. Class action suits were filed after the breach. The company said services are still running and that customer information was obtained.

In a separate matter, the FBI notified Springfield officials that a school system attack included a data breach that could have revealed Social Security numbers. Records of students and staff were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI gave the warning to local authorities.
