Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been sent to Geelong, with the deal completed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been heavily linked to the Cats after Essendon placed a high trade value on the defender. Essendon were unwilling to let him go cheaply throughout the trade period.
The finalised deal gives Geelong an experienced backman while Essendon gains Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is capable across multiple positions who adds depth to the Essendon list heading into the new season.
